5 New Brooms, Queen's Wood 7-8th September 2013

Part of this year's ReKindle Get Culture! show, my piece was actually about getting less culture, or to be more precise, about my own apparent inability to declutter my own life of all the surplus cultural artifacts I have lying around. Books, CDs, DVDs, videos, cassette tapes – some of this stuff is so old it's gaining retro appeal. In terms of what I've made this year, I wanted to create something that 'floated' above the ground and had a sense of weightlessness. I also wanted it to catch the sunlight and for the whole structure to move gently in the breeze and luckily I seem to have succeeded. Thanks to everyone who gave me their comments – whatever they were, (especially the local lady who said: "We want you to leave this up!"). Thanks to all the artists who took part in the show, and of course Tony and Judith for organising it – together you made another ReKindle show worthwhile and fun to be part of.
